Now into our fifth generation of family ownership, Ontario Seed Company is proud to be a 100% Canadian owned and operated business. From our formation in 1894 in a humble store in downtown Waterloo, Ontario Seed Company has steadily grown into a large integrated business that sells a wide range of horticultural products. Our main packaging plant is located at 77 Wellington St. South, Kitchener, together with our 100,000 sq. ft. central distribution warehouse. Due to our steady growth over the years and our continued desire to give our customers the best service possible, we have separated our business into inter-connected divisions, all operating under the Ontario Seed Company umbrella.

Ontario Seed supplies customers across Canada. Golf course supplies are sent as far as Moosenee and Labrador.

OSC operates distinct, but harmonious divisions in its business:

RETAIL DIVISION
With Ontario Seed Company's retail stores, size doesn't matter product selection and quality, staff knowledge and premier customer service do! We presently operate three stores, two of which specialize in retailing vegetable, flower and grass seed and gardening hardware and accessories.
We operate Ontario Seed Home Hardware located at 16 King Street South in Waterloo, Ontario. Our Waterloo location offers free parking on Regina Street, at the rear of the store.
For an absolutely unique experience, come visit our stores and take a trip back in time when exceptional customer service was the norm and taking in the store history and atmosphere was half the fun of purchasing your goods!

MAIL ORDER DIVISION

Our mail order division is the best way to bring our full line of seeds directly to your door! For those customers who lack internet or prefer the look and feel of paper copies, we mail out thousands of beautiful colour catalogues crammed full of useful information and just the right seeds for your prize winning garden! Of course we also have the full version of our catalogue available online with an online order page that allows for convenient, secure ordering over the internet.

FLOWER AND VEGETABLE SEED DISTRIBUTION
Every year we supply over 5000 vendors across Canada with displays chock-a-block full of flower and vegetable seed packets. There's a very good chance that no matter where you live in Canada, from the east coast to the west coast to the north coast, when you visit your favourite gardening supply store, an OSC flower and vegetable seed rack will be there to greet you !

Market gardeners and farm gate merchants adore us. Although this is not our core business, we supply many prosperous market gardeners.

WHOLESALE DISTRIBUTION

We supply many garden centres and nurseries, hardware and grocery stores, mass merchandisers and market gardeners with a large offering of bulk vegetable and flower seed, grass seed, bird seed, fertilizers, hard goods, gardening accessories and both organic and synthetic insect and disease controls.

TURF DIVISION

When it comes to professional turf grasses, speciality grasses, hard goods and commercial insect and disease controls, we are the supplier of choice to hundreds of golf courses, lawn bowling pitches, athletic fields, parkland operators, municipalities and landscape companies in eastern Canada. NATIVE PLANT SEEDS AND CONSERVATION DIVISION

Ontario Seed is a leading supplier of seed for native plants. In what has become a rapidly growing segment of our company, we supply native seed mixes for both dry land and wetland reclamation, remediation and rejuvenation projects, retention ponds, highway right of ways and many, many special projects. We carry a wide range of standard native seed blends as well as many individual native forbs and grasses. We also do custom native seed mixes, something we have found is of great interest to Landscape Architects at the project design stage and Landscape Contractors at the project installation stage.

OSC HEAD OFFICE
The OSC packaging plant is located at 77 Wellington St. South, Kitchener, Ontario.

To find our head office from Waterloo, travel south on King Street, turn right on Wellington Street South.

The former office and warehouse was on Regina St. now part of the new Waterloo City Hall complex. The only part remaining is the old Waterloo train station, used for years as a seed storage warehouse.

OSC is very proud of our new 100,000 sq.ft. distribution centre located in Kitchener and our renovated warehouse. We also maintain a 150-acre varieties trial farm located on the outskirts of Waterloo. Several Landscape Ontario field days have been held at the farm.
