 The philosophy of the Ontario Seed Company for the past 100 years has been
to offer all customers the best quality products and services available
as expediently and as reasonably as possible.
Ontario Seed supplies customers across Canada and the Caribbean. Golf
course supplies are sent as far as Moosenee and Labrador.
OSC operates five distinct,
but harmonious divisions in its business:
RETAIL
DIVISION
We have retail stores specializing in garden supplies and hardware located in
Hamilton & Waterloo. The largest store is 25,000 sq. ft. and employs
80 people. Our Waterloo seed & hardware store is located at 16 King Street South in the centre of Waterloo. Here you will find all the seed varieties we sell through our mail order catalogue. Freshly packaged seed packets are conveniently displayed for browsing. Imagine our store as your self-serve seed warehouse. Please visit soon. You will be delighted by our customer service. MAIL ORDER DIVISION 
Our mail order catalogue features flowers, vegetables and garden supplies. Every year we mail tens of thousands of catalogues to addresses throughout Canada.
FLOWER AND VEGETABLE
SEED DISTRIBUTION
Millions of packets of flower and vegetable seeds are packaged
and marketed to over 5,000 retail outlets covering all inhabited regions of Canada--our seeds can be purchased "cost to coast to coast". Market gardeners and farm gate merchants adore us. Although not our core business, we supply many prosperous market gardeners.
DISTRIBUTION BUSINESS
OSC supplies many garden centres, hardware and grocery
stores, and mass merchandisers with bird and lawn seed,
pesticides and gardening accessories.
TURF DIVISION
OSC warehouses and distributes pesticides from all major manufacturers. There are 500 golf courses throughout Ontario we supply with turfgrass seed. Especially important is our "Coated Penncross Bentgrass". OSC recently acquired Bayco Golf. Bayco makes and distributes golf ball-washers, sand trap rakes, flag poles, signs and much more.
 OSC
operates out of our head office and 60,000 sq.ft. packaging plant
at 330 Phillip Street in Waterloo purchased in 1981. The
former office and warehouse was on Regina St. now part of the
new Waterloo City Hall complex. The only part remaining is the old
Waterloo train station, used for years as a seed storage
warehouse.
OSC is very proud of our new 100,000 sq.ft. distribution
centre located in Kitchener and our renovated warehouse and retail outlet
in Hamilton. We also maintain a 150-acre varieties trial
farm located on the outskirts of Waterloo. Several Landscape Ontario field days have been held at the farm.
People make the difference and at OSC.Over 120 dedicated seedspeople are involved
in the operation of our thriving and “growing” business.
OSC is looking at new ventures, new products and new areas
to expand our existing operation. An ability to adapt to change, and a dedication to satisfying our customer’s present and future needs is key to the success of OSC.
