Annuals are plants that only last for one season. Some need to be started early indoors while others can be directly seeded outdoors.

Culture: Young seedlings can be quite tender so always toughen them up (a process called hardening off) before planting them outside and do not plant out until after the last spring frost date has come and gone - be prepared to protect them should you plant earlier.
