Exceptionally hardy, robust and untroubled by many of the pests that bother other cole crops, kale is a lazy gardener's delight!
Culture: Much like other members of the brassica genus. Sow seed 1 cm (1/2") deep in early spring or from June to early July in rows 60 cm (24") apart. After germination, thin seedlings to 30 cm (12") apart. Water well during dry spells. Kale is very cold tolerant and will improve in taste when exposed to frost.
