Earlier this year, we released our international line of seeds, and with the growing season finally underway, we’re getting excited to start using these new fruits and vegetables in some exciting new recipes!

There are so many ways to use these freshly grown vegetables, herbs and fruits, and here are just a handful of delicious recipes we can’t wait to try:

Garden-Fresh San Marzano Tomato Sauce

Originating in Italy, San Marzano tomatoes make the most delicious tomato sauce. They have a meaty and mild flesh which makes them perfect for pasta or pizza. San Marzano tomatoes are a variety of plum tomato with large, bright red fruits, few seeds and slightly flattened sides.

Simple Arugula Salad

Our “Wild Roquette” arugula is sure to be the star of this simple arugula salad. It has a rather potent aroma and peppery bite, so pairing it with simple ingredients is a great way to help it shine!

Borscht

For anyone who grew up in an Eastern European household, Borscht is a comforting soup that’s a great way to use our “Borscht” beets! With a 60-day maturity time, you’ll be eating delicious Borscht in no time.

Sauerkraut

Our “Brunswick Sauerkraut” from Germany is the best cabbage for making superior sauerkraut. This late-maturing variety of cabbage is great for fall and winter gardening, and you’ll love the flavourful taste.

Indian Eggplant Curry

Indian eggplant curry is a recipe that even the most ardent meat-lovers will be able to get behind! Our green punjab eggplant from India is perfect for this dish because of its soft flesh.

Pak Choi with Garlic and Chili

Pak choi, familiarly known in North America as bok choy, is a delicious vegetable found in many Asian dishes. Try this pak choi with garlic and chili using our “Mei Qing Choi Hybrid” pak choi. It makes a great side dish!

Pickled Peppers

You can use any kind of pepper for this pickled pepper recipe, but we think it would work best with our “Aroma Chili” pepper from Peru! These multi-coloured peppers make a colourful pickled pepper selection, though they’re hottest when they’re red.

Rhubarb Breakfast Cake

Everyone loves rhubarb season! Celebrate it with our “Victoria” rhubarb variety from the UK and try it in this delectable rhubarb breakfast cake. This variety of rhubarb has a slight red wine flavour that really sets it apart from other varieties!

Stuffed Acorn Squash

Squash is the king of fall vegetables, and this stuffed acorn squash is a great way to celebrate the season. Our “Cream of the Crop” acorn squash has a delicious nutty flavour and golden flesh that’s perfect for this recipe.
