What you need to know to Plant & Grow
Grow this chicory as you would lettuce. An even supply of moisture during the entire growth period is imperative for success.
Planting: Sow as soon as the soil can be worked in the spring, and then every two weeks thereafter to ensure a continuous supply. Sow seeds about 3 mm deep in rows 45 cm apart. Germination occurs in approximately 7 days.
Harvesting: Harvest by cutting leaves from the main stem at least 2.5 cm above the base. Avoid cutting into the crown, as new sprouts will often emerge from this area, extending the harvest. The best flavour and texture are found when the leaves are young.
