Arugula, often called rocket, is a fast-growing, cool-season green prized for its distinctively sharp, peppery flavour. Our heirloom varieties offer a robust, traditional taste that is far superior to many commercial hybrids.

• Growing Essentials: These hardy greens thrive in cool temperatures and well-drained, fertile soil. They can be grown in early spring and again in late summer for a bountiful fall harvest.

• Sowing: Direct sow in shallow rows as soon as the soil can be worked. Because arugula grows rapidly, sow small batches every two to three weeks to ensure a continuous supply of tender, young leaves.

• Care: Keep the soil consistently moist. While arugula enjoys full sun in the spring, it benefits from partial shade as the weather warms to delay bolting (flowering).

• Harvesting: Begin harvesting the outer leaves once the plants reach 10–15 cm in height. Regular cutting encourages the plant to continue producing new growth.
