Snapdragons are prized for their unique, towering spikes of dragon-shaped blooms that bring vertical drama and a touch of whimsy to the garden. Available in a wide spectrum of colours and heights, they are perfect for adding structure to borders, containers, or cut flower arrangements, and they thrive particularly well in the cooler temperatures of early summer and autumn.

Growing: Thrive in full sun to partial shade and prefer rich, well-draining soil. They appreciate cooler weather and can often tolerate light frosts in the autumn.
Sowing (Important Care): Starting Snapdragons from seed requires attention to detail. Surface sow the tiny seeds and press them firmly into the medium, as they require light to germinate. It is critical not to let the seeds dry out—maintain constant, gentle moisture. Additionally, provide a stable environment with proper temperatures (18–21°C) for consistent germination.
Care: Keep the soil evenly moist and provide support for taller varieties. Deadhead spent spikes to encourage secondary flushes of blooms later in the season.
Blooming: Offers a stunning, long-lasting display from late spring through early summer, often making a vigorous return when the cooler temperatures of autumn arrive.
