Lobelia is a much-loved annual, celebrated for its intense, electric-blue shades and delicate, petite blooms. Whether used as a dense edging plant or allowed to trail gracefully from hanging baskets and window boxes, it adds a refined, cool-toned elegance to any garden arrangement.

• Growing: Prefers full sun to partial shade. In areas with intense summer heat, they appreciate a spot with afternoon shade. Requires consistently moist, fertile soil.

• Sowing: Surface sow seeds as they require light to germinate. Press them gently into the growing medium. Important Care: Like other fine seeds, do not let them dry out. Keep the soil evenly moist and provide a warm, stable temperature (approx. 20–22°C) to ensure successful germination.

• Care: Keep well-watered, especially in containers, as they do not tolerate drought. If blooming slows mid-summer, a light shearing will encourage a fresh, vigorous flush of flowers.

• Blooming: Offers a prolific, carpet-like display from early summer through to the first autumn frost.
