What you need to know to Plant & Grow
Aspabroc matures quickly and grows best in cooler weather, making both early and late crops possible.
Planting: For an early crop, start seed indoors in a soil-less mix from mid-March to early April. Set out the transplants in mid-May, spacing them 60 cm apart in rows 60 cm apart. Seed can also be directly sown outdoors in mid-May, 0.5 cm deep and 7.5 cm apart. Thin or transplant seedlings to a final spacing of 60 cm apart. Avoid crusting over the soil when direct seeding outdoors, as this will greatly reduce emergence. Germination takes 7-12 days.
Care: Fertilizing is essential; use a balanced NPK granular or 20-20-20 water-soluble fertilizer. Keep the area weeded and evenly watered. High temperatures can cause buds to open quickly and reduce quality, so check plants daily when the weather becomes hot.
Why Aspabroc Broccoli Seeds belong in Your Garden
Aspabroc is a truly unique addition to any garden, offering the best of two popular vegetables in one easy-to-grow plant. The sweet, tender stems and florets provide a delicate flavour that is a joy to cook with. The plant’s ability to produce continuous side sprouts for up to five weeks after the main harvest means you get an extended and bountiful yield from a single planting, making it a highly rewarding and efficient crop.
