What you need to know to Plant & Grow

For best results, select a south-facing, wind-sheltered site for your melons. This variety is best grown in soils with a pH greater than 6.5 and less than 7.5.

Planting: Sow 5 seeds 2.5 cm deep per hill. Space hills 1.5-2 m apart. Once seedlings are established, thin to 3 to 4 plants per hill. In short-season areas, start seeds indoors in peat or paper pots 4 weeks before your planned transplant date. Seeds need a warm soil to germinate properly; do not sow into soil cooler than 21°C. Germination occurs in 10-14 days.

Care: Keep the melon vines evenly watered throughout the growing season.
