Description

Sebring Squash Seeds 2215. Hybrid.

Approx. 12 seeds/pkt (10-12 seeds/gram)

Sebring is a premium hybrid golden zucchini that stands out for its exceptional uniformity and vibrant colour. This variety produces straight, 20 cm long fruits with a brilliant golden rind and virtually no green tips. Inside, the creamy white flesh offers a mild, delicious flavour and a tender texture perfect for grilling, sautéing, or baking. Because Sebring is bred for tolerance to Powdery Mildew, the plants remain healthy and productive much longer into the season than standard varieties, ensuring a steady supply of fresh squash.

Quick Seed Details

  • Type: Hybrid Golden Zucchini (Cucurbita pepo)

  • Fruit: 20 cm long, straight, golden yellow with creamy white flesh

  • Features: High tolerance to Powdery Mildew; uniform fruit shape; extended harvest window.

  • Maturity: Harvest frequently to encourage the plant to continue producing throughout the summer.

Nutritional Information

Zucchini is a low-calorie, nutrient-dense addition to any meal. It is a good source of Vitamin C and Vitamin B6, as well as Manganese and Potassium. The golden skin of the Sebring variety is also rich in carotenoids, providing a boost of antioxidants to your diet.

What you need to know to Plant & Grow

As a hot-weather crop, Sebring squash thrives in the heat and requires rich, fertile soil.

  • Sow Outdoors: Direct sow from late May to mid-June once the soil has warmed. Plant 2.5 cm deep in hills spaced 2.4 m apart.

  • Sow Indoors (Optional): Start seeds indoors 3 weeks before your transplant date. Because squash roots are sensitive, use fibre or paper pots that can be planted directly into the soil to minimize transplant shock.

  • Germination: Typically occurs in 5–10 days.

  • Thinning: If direct sowing, plant 4–6 seeds per hill and thin to the 3 strongest plants after germination.

  • Care: Provide Full Sun and deep, well-drained soil rich in organic matter (compost). Maintain a soil pH between 5.5 and 6.5.

  • Harvest: For the best flavour and texture, harvest fruits when they reach 20 cm. Regular picking is essential to maximize your total yield.

Why Sebring Squash Seeds belong in Your Garden

If you have struggled with Powdery Mildew ending your zucchini harvest early, Sebring is the solution. Its golden hue adds a beautiful “pop” of colour to both your garden and your dinner plate, while its hybrid vigour ensures a reliable, heavy crop. It is the perfect combination of gourmet quality and “tough-as-nails” garden performance.
