Description
Sorbet XP Citrus Mixed Viola Seeds 6662.
Exceptional Uniformity with Rich Orange, Deep Yellow, and White Blooms.
Sorbet XP Citrus Mixed Viola (Viola cornuta) produces a colourful blanket of rich orange, deep yellow, and bright white blossoms on compact 15 to 20 cm plants. Smaller-flowered than traditional pansies, this hybrid variety blooms far longer into the heat of summer with amazing plant uniformity. Ideal for formal beds, garden borders, patio containers, and rockeries, these short-lived perennials (typically grown as very hardy annuals across Canada) offer long-lasting performance and outstanding weather resistance.

What you need to know to Plant & Grow
Sorbet XP Violas are easy to establish from seed, provided seeds are kept dark during the initial germination phase.
-
Indoor Sowing: Start seeds indoors 10 weeks before the last expected spring frost using a quality soilless growing medium. Plant seeds 3 mm deep—darkness is required for germination. Maintain a temperature of 20°C for the 7 to 14 day germination period. Move seedlings to a cooler area under lights once sprouted, then harden off and transplant outdoors after frost danger passes.
-
Outdoor Direct Sowing: Direct sow seed outdoors anytime from spring through fall.
-
Spacing: Space plants 15 cm apart in garden beds or borders.
-
Maintenance: Cut plants back in mid-summer if growth becomes straggly. This encourages a fresh flush of foliage and renewed blooming as cooler late-summer and autumn weather arrives.
