Radish Seeds

🔴 Quick & Easy Garden Staples

Radishes are among the fastest and easiest vegetables to grow. They make excellent row markers for slower-sprouting crops, and their spicy greens add a delicious kick to salads. For the best flavour and root development, radishes thrive in cool spring soils with quick, steady growth.

  • Growing Essentials: Sow early varieties in a sunny location as soon as the ground can be worked. Winter radishes are typically sown in mid-summer.

  • Sowing & Spacing: Plant seeds 12 mm deep and 2.5 cm apart in rows spaced 30 cm apart. Sow new seeds every two weeks to maintain a steady supply.

  • Care: Regular watering is essential. For early summer crops, use a row cover open at both ends to help deflect heat, as early warmth can cause plants to bolt to seed prematurely.

  • Harvesting: Pick in 3–4 weeks once roots reach the size of a large marble. Each packet sows approximately 6 m of row.
