Jump Start Kentucky Bluegrass Seeds 7100

Rapid Establishment and Elite Performance for High-Traffic Turf.

Jump Start is a game-changing “Unique/America” hybrid designed to solve the biggest challenge with Kentucky Bluegrass: slow establishment. While most bluegrasses take weeks to settle in, Jump Start is engineered for quick germination and aggressive growth. This elite variety produces a medium-dark green, high-density turf with a medium-fine texture. It is a “foundation of excellence” for those who need a lush, professional-grade lawn that can recover quickly from summer stress, drought, and heavy foot traffic.

What you need to know to Plant & Grow

Jump Start is the ideal choice for overseeding athletic fields between games or establishing a premium home lawn that fills in quickly.

  • Sowing Rates: * New Lawns/Overseeding: Sow at 1 kg per 90 m².

    • Application: Apply twice at half-rate in a criss-cross pattern for uniform coverage.

  • Timing: Best applied in the spring once soil warms in the spring or from mid-August to late September.

  • Preparation: For new lawns, ensure 5 cm of clean topsoil. For repairs, mow existing grass close to the soil and rake vigorously to remove thatch before seeding.

  • Germination: While Jump Start is faster than traditional varieties, it still requires ideal moisture. Keep the seedbed moist with a fine spray for 2–3 weeks. Note that cold or dry soil will extend germination time.

  • First Mow: Wait until the seedlings reach 8 cm in height.

Why Jump Start Seeds belong in Your Landscape

If you want the sod-forming benefits of a Kentucky Bluegrass—like self-repairing and a “carpet-like” feel—but don’t want to wait a month for results, Jump Start is the answer. Its incredible disease resistance and early spring green-up mean your lawn will be the first to look its best and the last to succumb to summer heat. It is the perfect professional-grade base for any home lawn or high-use athletic playing surface.
