🥒 Garden Fresh Perfection

Cucumbers thrive in rich, warm, sandy loam soil. For the best results, enrich your planting site by working large amounts of compost or well-composted manure into the soil to a depth of 30 cm.

• Warmth is Vital: Cucumbers are highly sensitive to cold. Wait until soil temperatures reach at least 18°C before planting to ensure healthy germination and prevent seed rot.

• Planting Method: Create mounds (hills) 15–20 cm high and 30–60 cm across, spaced 120 cm apart. Sow 6–8 seeds per hill at a 2 cm depth, then thin to 3–4 plants after sprouting. For straighter fruit or limited spaces, use a trellis.

• Care & Moisture: Consistent moisture is essential; moisture stress during hot, dry weather can make cucumbers bitter. Protect plants from frost and practice crop rotation to maintain soil health.

• Harvesting: Cut fruit from the vine with a sharp knife—avoid pulling or twisting, which can damage the plant. Pick regularly to encourage continued production.
