Prairie Sun Rudbeckia (Rudbeckia hirta) is a celebrated double award-winner (AAS and Fleuroselect Winner 2003) prized for its unique colour pattern and robust growth. Producing massive 12 cm wide flowers, each bloom features golden-yellow petals tipped with light yellow, surrounding a striking soft-green central disk instead of the traditional dark cone. Reaching a tall garden height of 1 m, this free-blooming variety provides continuous summer colour on sturdy stems. While technically a short-lived perennial, it is best grown as an annual in Canadian gardens.
